5 Questions to Ask When Visiting an Eye Doctor
When visiting the eye doctor, it is important to remain well informed about your eyesight and the eye exam procedures. The better informed you are about the eye exam, the more capable you will be to make educated decisions and to keep yourself on the right road to good eye health. A part of being informed means asking the eye doctor specific questions and understanding the meaning of their answers.

Preventing Cornea Burns
When most people think of burns, the might imagine burning a hand or an arm on the oven or stove. However, another common burn that occurs in the household are burns to the eye – particularly the cornea.
The cornea is the clear part of the eye that sits over the colored part of the eye and the pupil and helps you to see. Common causes of burns to this area include exposure to the sun and household chemicals like cleaning agents.
Odd accidents, such as curling irons slipping when curling the hair around the face, are another cause of cornea burns. Burns to the eye can be incredibly painful, and continue to hurt as though you have gotten something stuck in your eye.
Corneal Abrasions
Eye Allergies
Most allergens are in the air which is where they come in contact with the eyes and nose. Airborne allergens include pollen, mold, dust, and pet dander. Other causes of allergies, including allergies to certain foods or insect bites, do not typically affect the eyes the way airborne allergens do. Adverse reactions to cosmetics or drugs may also cause eye allergies.
Avoidance
The most common treatment available is to avoid whatever is causing the eye allergy. This includes keeping the home free of dust and pet dander and keeping the air conditioning on while a lot of pollen is in the air. Air conditioners help to filter out allergens, though the filters must be cleaned often. Sufferers of allergies may also benefit from immunotherapy, in which an allergy specialist injects the person with small amounts of the allergen to help them gradually build up immunity.
Hyperopia Correctives
The ability of the human eye to focus in a nearsighted and farsighted perspective is very accommodating. The curvature is large making for a focal length very short. This in turn focuses objects nearby. The exact reverse is said for the objects at long distance, as the focal length is long and flat.
The reasons the focus defects come about are a direct result of inability of the eye to accommodate variance. The concept of nearsighted and farsighted is a matter of spectral inconsistencies which throw focal lengths off by the inability to adjust to the distance in length.
Farsightedness
Multiple Sclerosis Vision Problems
When you have MS, it is your nerves that are affected as well as how they send signals out to your body when it comes to movement and other body functions. One of these functions that become affected by the MS is your vision. Affected eyesight is a common enough problem in people with multiple sclerosis and rarely does full blindness occur.
There are several different types of vision problems that typically happen to people who have MS. You may be lucky enough to escape vision problems early in your prognosis but you can bet that at some point, your vision will be affected. Here is what you might expect:
